MUSIC
Every year at this time, we have a recruitment drive for the music ministries here at North Rome, and specifically, our choir and orchestra. If you have a desire to sing in the choir or to play in the orchestra and God has given you a talent to do so, please come join us. During the month of August, we will be looking forward to new members and looking back to thank those who have set the bar so high for us. Our current music is based on big choir arrangements by Bradley Knight and his choir and orchestra at Prestonwood Baptist in Dallas, TX. We also use the modern praise and worship songs that many may hear on Christian radio. If this is your style of singing and praise, please consider joining us. Our choir practice schedule is 5:15PM on Sundays and 7:00PM on Wednesdays. Our orchestra meets at 8:30AM on Sundays and 6:00PM on Wednesdays. For more information, go see our Facebook group page, "North Rome Church of God Choir and Orchestra". ![]() ![]() ![]() YOUTH

COLLEGE/CAREER It's not enough to simply exist in a town that is home to at least two well-known colleges. Since Rome claims both Berry College and Shorter University, North Rome strives to reach out to both schools to invite them to join us both for fellowship and for worship. We have classes for college students and career-minded young people. We invite anyone that falls into this category to join us on Sunday mornings at 9AM and Wednesdays at 7PM. |
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Every
Sunday morning at 9AM, we have Sunday School classes for all
ages, from small children to young adults to senior adults. This
is a time of small group Bible study and reinforcement. We take
this opportunity to teach the Bible, answer questions, and build
relationships in small groups. This is perhaps one of the most
valuable parts of our church. We're able to meet with people
just like us and receive understanding and support for what we
go through. One minister equated it to Moses standing on the
mountain with his arms raised. As his arms dropped, those people
around him stepped up and held him up (Exodus 17). This is what
Sunday School and church are all about, being supported during a
time of need. We don't just minister to children, but we
minister to the whole body in small groups. If you're interested
in this type of ministry, either as a student or you're a
qualified teacher, please consider joining us.MISSIONS We
are a local church with a global mission of reaching all people
groups with the message of God's saving love. We send lay
missionaries out yearly with the mission of ministering in many
different ways to people all over the world. We primarily offer
three types of lay-involved short-term mission trips: building,
medical and evangelistic. We are always looking for assistance
in aiding our medical teams with medications and antibiotics. If
you can help, please call the church office. These trips are
open to anyone who has a medical background. Sometimes, we may
have a slot on a trip for an extra evangelistic team member to
provide counseling and salvation opportunities. If you would
like to give toward any trip, you can donate to a team member
directly, or mail the money to the church. Our address
information is located on the contact page of this site.WOMEN The
North Rome Church of God Women’s Ministry works to provide a
place for women to feel like they belong. We offer Bible study
groups, Widows Ministry, Women’s Retreats, fellowship and
prayer. Women from all walks of life have different needs. The
Women’s Ministry of North Rome provides a place for these ladies
to come and be ministered to. Our Women of Destiny monthly Bible
study is a prime example of how our women gather together for
study, for fellowship, and for prayer. We meet every 3rd Monday
of each month. Sometimes, there will be a specific speaker for
our time together. Other
chances for the women of the church to get together are studies
like Beth Moore's latest DVD Bible studies, such as Faithful,
Abundant, True. In this latest video lecture series, Beth shares
the stage with Priscilla Shirer and Kay Arthur. Together, they
deliver a powerful time of study and reflection that isn't
matched anywhere else. We are just finishing this series and are
looking forward to another powerful study series with Beth
Moore.SENIOR ADULT If you attend North Rome and you're over 50, there's a group that you can be a part of. Our Primetimers Senior Adult Fellowship meets every month on the second Tuesday night at 6:30PM to eat, sing, and fellowship. Throughout the year, there are small groups of Primetimers that will go out and catch a play or some other fun outing. If you think that this group appeals to you, get involved. ![]() ![]() ![]() PRAYER PARTNERS
![]() What do prayer partners do? - Prayer during the service - Intercessory prayer during the service - Prayer for needs during altar service Our prayer partners are trained in the proper way to pray for someone before they are asked to participate. If you have questions regarding this program or the training techniques, call the church office for more information. |
